In the third quarter of 2024, the virtual pet app market on iOS in Switzerland showcased interesting trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, the top five applications in this category exhibited diverse performance metrics in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Pengu – Raise Virtual AI Pets, published by SLAY GmbH, showed a dynamic trend in its weekly revenue, starting at approximately $461 and peaking at around $575 by the end of September. The downloads initially dipped from 893 to 181 in early September but rebounded to 1.1K in the final week. Meanwhile, its weekly active users declined from 6.9K to 2.4K mid-quarter, before recovering to 3.4K.

My Talking Tom 2 from Outfit7 Limited experienced modest revenue fluctuations, with earnings ranging from $5 to $40 throughout the quarter. Downloads saw a peak of 653 in early August, followed by a gradual recovery to 383 by the end of September. The app maintained a stable user base with active users reaching a high of 4.9K in late September.

My Cat – Virtual Pet Games, developed by Akita Limited Liability Company, achieved its highest weekly revenue of approximately $1.2K in early August. However, downloads decreased steadily, starting at 419 and dropping to 213 by the end of September. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, declining from 541 to 322.

My Talking Tom, another offering from Outfit7 Limited, had a less volatile revenue stream, with earnings reaching a peak of $26 in early September. Downloads began at 407, dipped mid-quarter, and then stabilized around 295. The app's active user count exhibited a gradual decrease, ending the quarter with 5.1K users.

Finally, Applaydu Play & Discover by FERRERO TRADING LUX S.A. did not generate any revenue during the quarter. However, the app's downloads increased from 215 to 324, and weekly active users saw a gradual rise, peaking at 982 by the end of September.
